From the 12th to 18th December 2020, at the Song Huong Theatre, Hue Academy of Music, Thua Thien Hue province, a “2020 National Young Talents Competition for Students at Culture and Arts Training Institutions” took place.

On the morning of the 12th of December 2020, the Vietnamese Institute for Musicology solemnly held the 70thanniversary of establishing and receiving the second time of the Third Class Labor Medal. Participating in the ceremony were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Phung Huy Can - Director of Department of Emulation and Reward, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Hoai Son - Director of Viet Nam National Institute of Culture and Arts, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Anh Tuan - Rector of Viet Nam National Academy of Music.

On the morning of the 18th of November 2020, the Viet Nam National Academy of Music held “Vietnamese Teachers’ Day and Graduation Certificate Distribution to all levels” at the grand concert hall of the Academy. Participating in the ceremony included Assoc.Prof. Dr. Ta Quang Dong, Member of Party Civil Affairs Committee, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Representatives of arts schools, theaters, arts groups, teachers and students of the Academy.

On the morning of 14th July, 2020, at the concert hall of the Viet Nam National Academy of Music (VNAM), a performance program of excellent university graduated students in the school year 2019-2020 took place. There was the presence of the Board of Directors of VNAM, professors, staff, lectures, parents and students

The 2018 International Piano Festival will be held at the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi from August 11th to 18th. The Jury of international professors include Prof. Susumu Aoyagi from Japan, Prof. Tai-Cheng Chen (the US-Chinese Taipei), Prof. Tran Thu Ha (Vietnam), Prof. Katarzyna Popowa-Zydron (Poland), and Prof. Dang Thai Son (Vietnam – Canada).

Luu Hong Quang has won first prize at the Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition in Australia, regarded as a most prestigious contest for pianists in the Asia-Pacific region. The 21-year-old pianist won with stirring performances of Chopin and Liszt and a classical sonata in the best recital in round two at the event in Brisbane.Quang is the only Vietnamese contestant in this year's competition and also performed works by Tchaikovsky, Haydn, and Beethoven during the four-round contest.
A group of 18 Vietnamese piano students aged 9-24 have excelled at the sixth Asia International Piano Academy Festival (AIPAF). The event took place on July 20-24 at the Ewon Cultural Institute, Cheonan, South Korea, with the participation of groups from eight countries and territories including South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and China.
A music centre has been set up in Ha Noi to teach appreciation to audiences and get more people involved in the art. The centre will introduce participants to noted domestic and foreign composers and hold music workshops and classes on playing instruments and singing. The not-for-profit centre charges minimal fees and is open to all ages and backgrounds, according to composer Van Dung head of the centre.
Viet Nam's Hoang Pham Tra Mi won the first prize for the under-15-year-old category at the Singapore International Chopin Piano tournament, which ended on Sunday. The competition, to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birth, was organised for the first time by the Chopin Society (Singapore) and the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
Eight young Vietnamese pianists will be competing against 140 others at the First International Chopin Piano tournament from tomorrow to Sunday in Singapore. The competition, which commemorates the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birth, is being organised by the Chopin Society (Singapore) and the Nanyang  Academy of Fine Arts.The Vietnamese pianists, who are aged between 10 to 16, will be competing in four of five categories.
