Mr. Tran Quang Hai offers books to VIM
Friendly, open-minded, full of attractive, that is the feeling of those who have ever met the French-citizenship musician, Mr. Trần Quang Hải. He, with nearly fifty years closely attaching to the musicology researches, is supposed as one of pioneers of the world in this field. He and his overtone voice, the mouth harp, and spoons travel many places of the world to perform and introduce Vietnamese traditional music.

Like his father - Prof. Trần Văn Khê, musician Trần Quang Hải always directs towards Vietnam. He has been an honorable member of the Vietnamese Institute for Musicology, and always helps the Institute increasing the international relations in scientific activities, and forming the sponsor funds that encourage researches on Vietnamese traditional music.

On the occasion returning Vietnam and participating in the symposium of two ICTM Study groups, on the morning of July 16, 2010, musician Trần Quang Hải visited and offered the Vietnamese Institute for Musicology some documentations including 10 books and 10 CDs and DVDs relating to traditional music of Vietnam and the world.

Hopefully, those documentations in English and French will be of help to Vietnamese music researchers especially the youth who approach the musicological research methods of the world. As it may know that the precious book documentations in library of musician Trần Quang Hải in France will be gradually offered to the Vietnamese Institute for Musicology. We would like to show gratitude to sincere sentiments of an expatriate musician towards Vietnam and development of the young musicology field in Vietnam.
