On July 12th, 2012 The US Embassy in Hanoi cooperated with VNAM to present a recital by American pianist Mark Damisch and his daughter, Alexandra Damisch. This was one of the activities in the framework of bilateral cultural exchange program of the US Embassy to celebrate the 17th anniversary of US-Vietnam relation.
Mark Damisch was widely known as a talented artist, a positive social activist. In the adolescence, he made several concert tours with symphony orchestras in Eastern and Western Europe. He has been mayor of the Northbrook city (Illinois State) in three terms. His family undertook classical concerts to promote peace in some areas of Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Together with his two daughters Katherine and Alexandra, Mark Damisch appeared in concerts in Germany and Austria. They also had the opportunity to perform in Japan and China in 2011.
The unique recital for the capital’s audience has been well made in front of music lovers at the auditorium of Vietnam National Academy of Music. Mr. David Moyer, the cultural attaché of the US Embassy to attend and give speech at the concert.
