Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra attending the Asian Orchestra Week 2012 in Japan
At
the invitation of the Agency for Cultural of Japan and the Association
of Japanese Symphony Orchestras, Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra - Vietnam
National Academy of Music attended the Asian Orchestra Week (AOW) in
Tokyo and Fukushima cities from 2nd to 5th October 2012. This is the
second time the orchestra was invited to attend the event, the first
trip was held in 1998.
This year the Japanese audience had chance
to enjoy the symphony music interpreted by the Symphony Orchestra of
Mokpo city - Korea, Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra and the Japanese Kyushu
Symphony Orchestra. In the concert nights, a part from the world
classical master pieces, each orchestra brought to AOW different musical
colors thought the introduction of a work written by its national
composer and a concerto performed by its national soloist.
On
the 3rd October at the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall, under the baton
of German guest conductor Christian Schuman, Hanoi Philharmonic
Orchestra performed the Rhapsody Vietnam by Do Hong Quan; 1st piano
concerto by P. Traikovsky with Luu Hong Quang as soloist and the
Symphony No. 9 "From the New World" by A. Dvorak. The program was warmly
received and appreciated by Japanese audience. In addition to the
official concert, the orchestra was in Fukushima Concert Hall on 5th
October. Together with Japanese colleagues, the orchestra members formed
an emotional joint concert dedicating to audience who just experienced
the double disaster earthquake and tsunami.
Friendship trip has brought the great experiences to the orchestral members and guest conductor.
